Three ways to work with us. None of them require certainty.

Below are the current ways to enter this work. If none of them quite fit, please reach out. We can usually find a way.

A note on access. All offerings include a sliding scale and a small number of community-supported places. Cost should not be the reason you do not begin. If it is, please tell us.

August Gatherings

This August we are hosting one-hour online gatherings, an open door into how we tend sorrow together. They are free, held virtually, and open to anyone.

One hour, online. We will walk through the three ways we tend sorrow here: circles, companioning, and ceremony. Time with each, and room for your questions.

More details to come.
If you would like to hear more,  we invite you to add your name to our letter.

Our sessions create a gentle, spacious place to honor the love beneath your sorrow and to move at its pace. Whether your heartache arises from the many non-death losses that reshape a life or a death loss, we tend to it with reverence. Together, we listen for the wisdom your ache carries, move with it for the medicine it offers, and make room for the stories, sensations, and memories that want to be witnessed. This is a space where nothing in you has to be rushed, fixed, or justified.

questions

What People Often Ask

  • No. The Center of Sorrow offers spiritual and contemplative accompaniment. It is not a substitute for therapy or psychiatric care, and we are glad to refer when that is what you need.

  • No. The Center of Sorrow is a humanity center. People of all traditions, and none, are equally welcome here.

  • For many people, a Sorrowing Circle is the gentlest entry. Some begin with one-to-one Sorrowing Soulcare Companioning instead. If you are marking a specific moment, a Ritual or Ceremony may be the right shape. If you are not sure, write to us and we will help you find a fit.

  • Tell us. Sliding scale and community-supported places exist for this reason.

  • Once we agree on a fit, you will receive a link to book and pay through our scheduling platform. You will get a written confirmation and a brief intake note before the first session or circle.
