About

A center for the full range of what it means to be human.

The Center of Sorrow was founded on the conviction that sorrow is not the opposite of flourishing. It is part of it. We do not ask anyone to get over their sorrow, to find the silver lining, or to be strong. We ask only that you come — and that in arriving, you discover you were never alone in what you carry.

Mission

To restore dignity, belonging, and spiritual safety for individuals, families, and communities navigating life's losses and complex spiritual terrain. Through contemplative practice, embodied learning, and trauma- sensitive care, we tend sorrow as a sacred and communal act.

vision

A world where sorrow is not hidden or hurried, where heartache is met with presence rather than isolation, and where every person who carries loss finds a community willing to carry it with them.

Cami Beecroft-Mann

As founder and director of The Center of Sorrow, I tend a sanctuary where sorrow is honored as a teacher, dignity is restored as a birthright, and the deep wisdom of the body is welcomed home. Through the Physio Divina Sacred Body Method and Pneuma Embodied Soulcare, I carry a lineage of feminine knowing, somatic, contemplative, trauma-sensitive, and rooted in the ancient pathways of Christian mysticism.

For nearly thirty years, I have walked beside those navigating the tender terrain of human longing and loss. My work is shaped by a radical truth: we are not problems to be solved. Beneath every ache lives an untouched radiance; your inherent gloriousness, goodness, truth, and beauty, waiting to be remembered.

In my practice, sorrow is not rushed. It is listened to. It is held. It is honored as a doorway into transformation. Through gentle accompaniment, I help you rediscover what has always been yours: the quiet strength of your own soul, the wisdom of your own body, the shimmering thread of the Divine woven through your life.

At The Center of Sorrow, you are invited into a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where your sorrows, longings, and lived experiences are met with tenderness. Through deep listening and contemplative discernment, I support the unfolding of your authentic wholeness and the reawakening of your wise, divine inner self. Here, you may encounter the Transcendent Divine, however you name, sense, or understand the Holy.

This is the work of sorrowing: to breathe, to soften, to remember, and to be restored.

TIER 3 · VITALIZING

What life looks like now

Tending the life that emerges through the experience of loss. Practices for spiritual resilience, communal belonging, and the wholing that sorrow can give rise to, with Physio Divina (a somatic movement practice) as a contemplative resource.

II

TIER 2 · integration

Soul Care

The longer, slower work of integration. Tending sorrow, grief, and spiritual wounds through embodied, contemplative, and relational practice, until a loss settles into a life.

I

TIER 1 · ACUTE

Loss Care

Immediate, trauma-sensitive support for individuals, families, and communities navigating loss or spiritual disorientation. Accompaniment in the first weight of it, before integration is possible.

how the work unfolds

An ethos of tending.

Sorrow does not sit still, and the work moves with it. We hold three tiers of care. People may enter at any point, move in sequence, or cycle between them as life asks.

Trauma-Sensitive Care

Predictable, consent-led, and attentive to the nervous system at every step.

Sorrow Care & Companioning

Sound grief care, companioning, and education.

We accompany; we do not manage.

Embodied Learning

The body is part of how sorrow is carried and how it moves. The work includes it.

Contemplative Practice

Slow, attentive, and unhurried. The pace is part of the care.

Radical Hospitality & Dignity

Each person is the authority on their own sorrow and grief, and every person is received as they arrive.

Spiritual & Communal Resilience

This work strengthens not only individuals but the wider circles they belong to.

what grounds us

Six principles, shared across everything we do.

This is the threshold. You are awaited here.

If any of this resonates, you are welcome to reach out. No obligation, and no expectation about what you should already know.
